CONTRACTOR’S PAGE4X18W LUMINARIESDear Contractor, lately we have noticed that in Southern Europe there are many 2x18W and 4x18W luminaries that use one 36W ballast to power two serially connected 18W tubes. Our Eco-Tubo® EBM-114R model, designed to replace a 18W tube with its separate ballast, does not behave properly in these luminaries. The symptom is a poor illumination, and occasionally one of the tubes gives the expected luminance, while the second tube only gives 60%. In these cases, the model to be installed is the EBM-114RD, including two connector cables for connecting each pair of 14 W Eco-Tubo® between each other, simulating a serial connection.
To find out the pairing configuration, remove only one T8 tube, relight the lamp. Of the three remaining tubes, the one that does not light is the pair to the removed one. However, if the facility is prone to voltage surges (rural areas, generators, etc.) Remember that when leaving the EM ballast installed, we to protect the electronic equipment from such surges, since the EM ballast acts as a very good filter/buffer." For further information, visit the "downloads" area, "diagrams," Case 4, or contact us by phone, or email. We will be happy to help you out.
Sincerely, WHAT TO DO WHEN THE REFLECTOR FACES SIDEWAYS In some luminaries the tubes are inserted horizontally. In other cases we have a batten fixed to the wall. In these cases, when you turn Eco-Tubo® into its final position, the reflector is in an incorrect position, a 90 degrees turn would be desirable. To solve this problem, the ends of the Eco-Tubo® can be rotated to adjust its orientation in 90 degrees. See illustrative photos:
In this case we have to disconnect the ballast and feed the Eco-Tubo® directly to mains. Look at the picture below: At the other end of the Eco-Tubo® we have the same situation. To connect Eco-Tubo® directly to the mains, we connect neutral to one end, either pin, and connect phase to the other end, either pin. If you have any problems or questions, call or email us. We will be happy to help you. If the problem persists, our technical team will help you on-site. |
